Renting a Houseboat Without a License – How It Works

One of the most common reasons guests choose a houseboat holiday in Masuria: you don't need a boating license. What are the rules in Poland? Boats up to 13 metres in length with an engine power of up to 75 kW can be operated in Poland without an official license. This applies to both houseboats and smaller motor yachts. The on-site briefing Before handover, you'll receive a practical briefing from our team or the boat operator: manoeuvring, docking and casting off, safety equipment, and the most important rules of the water. After the briefing, you're ready to go. What you should still know Even without a license, basic rules apply: speed limits in canals, right-of-way rules at bridges and locks, and standard safety precautions (life jackets, weather awareness). Our team is available for questions throughout your trip. For larger sailing yachts, you may need a boating license depending on hull length — just get in touch and we'll advise you individually.
